www.Frightware.com Offers Users Sneak Peek at Software Title with QuickTime Movie

November 24, 1999, AUSTIN, TX --Take a break from the turkey this Thanksgiving as Blue Byte Software, a leading independent developer and publisher of PC games, tomorrow launches a QuickTime movie previewing Stephen King's* F13, the first interactive entertainment product from best-selling horror author Stephen King. The world-renowned author, who is the mastermind behind the likes of Misery, Christine, The Shinning, Carrie and The Shawshank Redemption, is set to invade computer screens, while keeping users entertained and captivated.

The F13 QuickTime movie is the newest addition to the www.frightware.com site, going live mid-morning on Thursday 25th November, providing the most in-depth peek to date at product features, including hatching cockroaches, zombies on the rampage, piranha attacks, uninvited house guests, a quick excerpt from King's exclusive novella and an eerie soundtrack. The web site also features product screen shots, audio/video clips, links, product news and updates, and the opportunity to sign up for the Stephen King's* F13 newsletter. Additionally, surfers can pre-order copies of the product and all reservations will be shipped with a collectible, "horror-ific" mouse pad.

Stephen King's* F13, which is designed to "take over" a user's computer, features the previously unpublished (in book format) King novella, Everything's Eventual; numerous interactive "King-esque" games and customizable desktops; "screamsavers" and more. The product, which is both Macintosh and PC compatible, will be available in stores nationwide mid-January 2000 at an MSRP of $29.95. This product has been rated Teen (13+) [Animated Violence] by the ESRB.

About Stephen King

The Official Stephen King Web site can be found at . Stephen King was born in Portland, Maine in 1947, the second son of Donald and Nellie Ruth Pillsbury King. He made his first short story sale to a mass market men's magazine shortly after his graduation from the University of Maine. In the Fall of 1971, he began teaching high school English classes at Hampden Academy, the public high school in Hampden, Maine. Writing in the evenings and on the weekends, he continued to produce short stories and to work on novels. In the Spring of 1973, Doubleday & Co., accepted the novel Carrie for publication, providing him the means to leave teaching and write full time. He has since published more than 40 books and has become one of the world's most successful writers. Stephen is on the Bangor YMCA Board of Directors.
