We received the following press release via e-mail.--RL
Greenhill’s website has been a tremendous success, publicising and
promoting our books across the world via the internet. Now, to build on
that success, we have expanded and developed the site still further, even
making it possible to order books directly through a secure credit card
ordering facility.
New features include:
The presentation of extensive extracts from our books. This will be an ongoing project and at present we have chapters loaded from three books:
A biography of Sir Charles Oman (from A History of the Peninsular War, Volume IX, Edited by Paddy Griffith)
Bernard Cornwell’s Introduction to: On the Road with Wellington.
A description of the siege of Saragossa, 1808 from the forthcoming memoirs of Heinrich von Brandt (In the Legions of Napoleon).
‘Book of the Month’, illustrating and promoting a key title on
the homepage. Clicking on the image takes you to more information
on the book or you can buy directly from the homepage.
A ‘This Month in Military History’ section, which presents a
detailed chronology of military events for the relevant day of each month.
This fascinating compilation is a unique resource on more than
2,000 years of conflict. The first month to be loaded will be July
with 220 entries.
An expanded and updated GI Series Index.
This key guide by Dr John Langellier to over 2,000 images
in the GI Series details (by both subject and topic) 1,811
black and white and 225 colour images.
An efficient, secure, easy to use and direct ordering service.
Simply click on the ‘buy this book’ bar on the information page for each
book, key in your credit card details, and we’ll process your order
within three working days.
Details of our forthcoming Autumn 1999 books.
Now available are full descriptions of books we are publishing
between July and December 1999.
These new features complement the existing information on the site:
details of over 190 in-print publications, highlights of American
publications we distribute internationally, background information about
Greenhill, links to other websites of interest to the military enthusiast,
and, of course, online editions of Greenhill Military Book News.
