If I had two hours with Computer Gaming World, I had two minutes with ZDTV. Well, that's what you'd see on the show--it was more hurry up and wait for an hour than anything else. I was the "B" guest, which means tail-end charlie on the show, and was there to talk less about MagWeb than about making money with your computer. I would have much rather done a site overview like the auto site segment, but being a small fry in a large internet world, you start where you can. As usual, it's all a blur after the taping, and it was one take and that's it. They did put me in makeup beforehand--really tanned me up with a variety of foundation, mascara, and whatever other cosmetics were used. Hopefully, they did not make me look like a member of KISS as they dabbed and smeared here and there and patted with hair spray. Then it was sit and wait as they put the show together. The "A" guest was late, but finally appeared and had to be prepped and polished as well. Then several short segments, then my taping. It's like Entertainment Tonight meets Nerd TV--you're not going to get indepth information as much as some bullet points and a website to explore. In a sense, you just start to get comfortable with the million-watt lights and cameras and you're gone. It's over. See 'ya. Of course, it's not as bad as I make it out to be, and I particularly enjoyed sitting and watching the production process. And I will point out that every little bit of experience and publicity helps.
