JodieCon'98 AAR EXCERPTS
From: Bob Kerstetter
I had a good weekend and enjoyed the games. I felt the war rooms for
each nation were a good idea. I felt things went well for the first
try. I appreciate your hard work and interest. I would be willing to
work on terrain for the next campaign if you need it and
could give me specifics. Things went well and I had a good time.
Thanks a lot!
From: Allen (Uxbridge) Kaplan
I think you did a great job with only a short time to prepare.
Event Org/Admin. - Well done with the personalities on the badges.
P.S. Could you send me a copy of the units sheets for all the armies.
Also I need an address for Old Glory so that I can redeem the gift
certificates. Thanks.
From: Todd Kauderer
[Campaign'98 was] a mini-campaign that involves a lot of map moves,
hidden enemy movements, dispatches, confusion and chaos. Each player
is assigned a command and only can speak to other commanders that are
in immediate contact. Each independent commander issues strategic
movement orders for their command and is responsible for sending
dispatches to their teammates. When any commander makes contact with
the enemy, a battle may be fought. During the Waterloo weekend in
October, there were 3 or 4 battles going on simultaneously in
different rooms. The only way the other commanders knew what was
happening was if they received a dispatch. It was a far cry from the
normal Napoleonic battle where everyone lines up shoulder to shoulder
to attack frontally. Pete Panzeri and Fred Hubig (and mostly Jodie)
did a fantastic job to set this up and I look forward to going to more
in the future!
From: Robert Grosse
I want to extend my thanks and kudos to yourself, Pete Panzeri, Jodie,
Dr. Birdseye, and the others whose names I cannot remember at this
time. All your hard work and energy put in to organizing and running
the Campaign is fully appreciated. The event was organized very well
and registration was a breeze. I arrived at approx. 3 PM on Friday and
was involved with my cohorts in 15 minutes. Todd did an excellent job
as Napoleon and the computer [projector] display helped greatly. The
strategic game seemed to play very well from my viewpoint. The troop
setup went ok. I had no problem with the composition of my force. It
played very well. I think the best way I can judge this event is to
say that I look forward to playing in 1999. Again thank you for all
your hard work and good humor during the event.
From: Scott Boston, Cadet, USMA
Thanks for the fun weekend! We had a blast, and learned quite a bit
about warfare in that era (especially my brother, who went from "how
do I put my guys down?" to MVP at Waterloo). I'd certainly be
interested in coming in'99. Again, thanks for a great weekend.
From: Frank Chadwick
Glad to hear the Waterloo game went well. Fill me in a little in you
get a chance. In the mean time put me down for a tee shirt. Look
forward to being at the next one!
