We would like to draw your attention to the Anglo-Boer War Centenary Conference which is being organised by the The Anglo-Boer War Centenary Society of the Western Cape to take place at the Castle of Good Hope from 4 - 9th October 1999.

AN INTERNATIONAL EXPO Of Anglo-Boer War Memorabilia, Collectibles and items of interest relating to the War.

TOURS ACROSS SOUTH AFRICA

During this Centenary, Cape Town will act as the springboard for tours across Southern Africa - to sites of the main actions of the war, to other conferences and expo's as well as to sites of general interest.

ARE YOU INTERESTED?

The Anglo-Boer War was probably the first time that the whole of the British Empire pulled together. It was a time when people from all over the world got a chance to meet up and forge the bonds that lead to the formation of the Commonwealth. It was a time when the Afrikaner, led by men like Smuts and Botha, earned their right to membership.

While the conference should help to understand the war and its impact on the course of events during this century, this centenary as a whole is an opportunity for these people to get together again, to re-forge those bonds. This time it is without the trauma of war and it is a time to move forward in the spirit of the unity.

The Society invites proposals for papers for the conference and enquiries from potential exhibitors at the Expo.
