Press Release
The following press release was sent to MagWeb.--RL Feb. 6-8, 1998
SPONSORED BY: Last Square Store (www.lastsquare.com). FEATURES: Complete Wargaming Weekend: Battles of Hastings (1066) and Prokhorovka (1943), drinks, munchies, and meals Prokhorovka: In July of 1943, the battle-hardened German Army launched Operation Zitadelle on the steppes of Russia. The offensive was designed to finally end the war in the East, but quickly developed into the largest tank battle in history. If you enjoy a long, tough battle followed by cold beer and comraderie, you may want to join us in Madison. You can command elements in one of Hitler's crack Panzer Corps; or if the defense of holy, Mother Russia is more to your liking, an elite Tank Brigade. This historical simulation will be fought on a 250 sq. ft. table with thousands of 15mm figurines and using Spearhead by Arty Conliffe. Hastings: The year is 1066 and the place is a wind-swept hill in England. Will you take up the challenge as William the Bastard of Normandy? Or does the cloak of Harald Godwinson, King of England feel more to your liking. Either way, the game will be afoot when you step into our time machine and travel back to the Battle of Hastings as presented on our 10' x 18' gaming table. Hundreds of expertly painted 25mm Saxons and Normans will hack and slash their way across the same terrain as did the loyal followers of William & Harald. Will the history of Britain be re-written? Or will we prove that William's victory was sealed at Stamford Bridge. Either way, the mead will be flowing by the end of the weekend as players from both factions will join in toasting the victors and commiserating with the defeated. ADMISSION: entire weekend $150/person (includes food), $210 (with double occupancy room), $250 (with single occupancy room). FOR MORE INFORMATION:
