.45 Adventure: Crimefighting Action in the Pulp Era A new rulesset for miniatures plunks you down in pulp era of the 1920s-30s, where overcoats and fedoras were in style and dealmaking was as subtle as a "gat" pressed against your back. You can recreate all the noir private eye action, starting with the dame with legs up to her neck and a pair of loaded 38s to the bootleggers at the docks. Skirmish rules govern a variety of actions, including movement, shooting, fisticuffs, vehicle driving, and special abilities. Sections show how to "build" up your heroes and villains, and even bring in The Shadow, Doc Savage, and other favorite characters from book, radio, and silver screen. Scenarios and pre-generated "generic" characters as well as blank character sheets to fill in are included. Cost: $14.95
Mini-Review: A great little set of rules for fast skirmish-level action in a two foot-by-two foot space. I played a variation of the Shootout in the Park scenario (2'x2' area) as the evil "Fish-Face" Mc-someone or another and his henchman Tommy Gat going after the ledgers detailing the crooked cops on the take. Curses! The Gargoyle and his gal pal Bridget showed up to try to stop me. Fast, fun, and lots of bad accents! Good job. --RL.
