MagWeb.com attended Origins 2003 and co-sponsored the War College Lecture Series. Everything seemed to go off with minimal problems, and certainly nothing that could not be dealt with. However, here's an interesting sidelight squabble between two exhibitors, with GAMA caught in the middle. Official attendance was 12,664, up from 11,399 in 2002. Mayfair Games has objected to Guild Of Blades™ displaying of the Prison Bitch card game, citing the game violates the Origins exhibit policy regarding the selling of objectionable material, specifically concerning sexual themes, depicting of rape, graphic lust, and sexual amoralities. Mayfair has asked that the Board direct Guild Of Blades to pull the product from its display here at the show. No representative of Mayfair Games or Guild Of Blades attended this Board meeting, despite being advised of its time and location. Motion to ban display of Prison Bitch by Bruce Neidlinger, seconded by John Phythyon. Martin Stever voted nay. Nicole Lindroos abstained. Motion passed. This decision was implemented by staff the next morning, prior to opening of the exhibit hall. On Sunday afternoon, due to re-display of the product by said exhibitor, the exhibitor was ejected from the exhibit hall. The GAMA staff wishes to thank the neighboring exhibitors, the volunteers who aided, and Jim Magee, for their patience and help in this difficult matter.
