We received the following: Staff of Napoleon Journal Announce Their First Books Oakland, California (7 May 2003) -- Two new Napoleonic books will be produced this fall by the staff of Napoleon Journal, using the same color graphics and illustrations that made the magazine so popular among Napoleonic readers. The first book is a collection of never-before-published uniform plates called Napoleon's Last Grande Armée: Portraits From the 1813 Campaign. The second book, Napoleon's Finest, is the first English translation of the 1896 book Opérations du 3e Corps, Marshal Davout's personal journal with after-action reports from his subordinate commanders. Both books will be published in oversize format (10x14) with deluxe leather binding like collector editions of the nineteenth century. "We are very happy to be publishing again," said Dana Lombardy, former Publisher of Napoleon Journal. "Although we were unable to re-start the magazine, these books are an exciting way for us to continue working in a field of history that we love." Since the books are limited editions, interested readers are encouraged to reserve a copy in advance.
