We received the following item. --RL Plainfield, IL -- March 12, 2003 – Eagle Games, Inc. today announced that it will enter the entertainment software publishing business with a PC version of their critically acclaimed board game War! Age of Imperialism. The game is scheduled for a September, 2003 release. The PC conversion of War! Age of Imperialism is being developed by the hot new PC game developer Donohoe Digital LLC. Doug Donohoe, founder and president of Donohoe Digital, said, “We are very excited about working with Eagle Games. They are producing some of the best strategy board games available today – their games feature top quality components and deep, exciting game play.” He went on to say, “If War! Age of Imperialism is successful; we plan on making it the first in a series of PC conversions of Eagle’s board games.” The board game War! Age of Imperialism is a game of empire building, exploration, economic expansion, technological advancement, and diplomacy in the Age of Imperialism (1830 – 1900). Players rule one of the great powers of the era as they attempt to carve out an empire. The PC conversion will allow current fans of the board game to play solo against a very challenging AI with several “personalities”, as well as to play distant opponents online via the internet. Glenn Drover, president and founder of Eagle Games, Inc., as well as a ten-year veteran of the PC gaming market, said, “We are expecting big things from our new line of PC conversions. There are very few high-quality, turn-based strategy games being published these days. And since strategy games are the single largest market segment in PC gaming, and real-time strategy games have been done to death, I think that strategy gamers are ready for games with high-production values that also let them think rather than twitch.” War! Age of Imperialism first appeared as a board game in November, 2001, and has gathered critical acclaim as well as a legion of loyal fans. The PC game will add several new features: a new segment of the world (North and South America), solo play, live internet and e-mail play with up to eight players, and rules clarifications and additions.
