Bell Park
7th Annual Games Fair

May 20th, 2002 (Nova Scotia Canada)

We received the following release. --RL

Bell Park Academic Centre will be holding its 7th annual Games Fair during the week of May 20th, 2002. Along with several tournaments in a variety of game genres we will also have our annual Game Inventors Competition. This is a highly successful event with 75 to 100 games entered each year.

The use of traditional games (board and card) as opposed to computer games is highly valued in our school. Board, role playing and card games are effectively used to enhance and promote all areas of the curriculum. The benefits of social interaction and problem solving are also key factors in using games in a classroom setting.

Over the past 6 years a multitude of companies have supported our event with the donation of games. Some companies that have had a long standing relationship with our event are: Columbia Games, Steve Jackson Games, Kenzer and Company, Laughing Gravy Games, Out Of The Box Games, Geo Hex, and Flying Buffalo. Three companies that have been with us from the beginning and have been very generous are Mayfair Games, Iron Crown Enterprises and our major sponsor last year, Decipher.
