We received the following release. --RL I have recently re-edited the Medieval Warfare Fast Play rules and they will be going up on the SAGA Publishing website Friday. You will be able to download these along with the QRS sheets for both Large and Medium stands. The Fast Play rules are an easier system than the regular Medieval Warfare rules, having no optional rules, only a single general, smaller number of total units and limited, fixed numbers for unit size (1-4 stands for mounted and 2-6 stands for foot), no Strategic Movement, no ambushes, no flank marches or off-table reserves, fewer special formations, a simplified movement table, a more concise missile fire table (only two ranges, not three), an abbreviated close combat table and no naval rules. Dave Smith and Steve Schifani are working on army lists for the Fast Play rules, but in the meantime, there are provisions in the Fast Play rules for using the existing published MW armies. The MWFP will give you a faster playing game on a much smaller table that can be finished in an hour or so. It also allows you to build an army quickly. Once built, this force can be the core of your full size MW army. This will be an opportunity for those of you who have been interested in seeing how the MW rules mechanisms work to get a feel for them before taking the plunge and purchasing the full rules set of either Medieval Warfare or Ancient Warfare.
