We received the following press release--RL I have some bad news for those of you who supported the "History-on-the-Internet" project this past last year. As you may recall, the project was to set up a non-profit organization that would operate a server for high quality, history related, internet sites. Although the project was successful in attracting high quality sites, unfortunately we were unable to attract the financial sponsorship to help pay the bills. So after being operational for nine months, we will shut down the "History-on-the-Internet" on 1 April 2000. Fortunately we have found a home for the Napoleon Series, thanks to Max Sewell who has hosted the Napoleon Series mirror site for the past three months on his company's server. Max has very generously offered to continue to host the Napoleon Series! Effective immediately, the mirror site is now the new home of the Napoleon Series. So what does this mean for you as a reader? You will not notice any significant changes to the Series. All of the features that were available on the History Server, are and will continue to be available at our new site. However, if you have not already done so, you must change your bookmarks to the Series new address:
After 31 March, the old address will be a dead link. Please pass this new address on to all of your friends and colleagues who have an interest in the Napoleonic Period. Thanks for all of your support in the past year! I hope to continue to see you at the Series in its new location.
