Annex E1
Because of the poor design of British submarine fire control systems, although they can fire the Mk8 torpedo, they cannot set it with any gyro angle off dead ahead. The Mk8 was capable of accepting such settings, but the fire control systems were incapable of setting the weapon. This applies to ALL WW II British submarines.
Annex G1
The British Type 286/286M radar was accidentally omitted from this annex. It was carried on small surface vessels, and is a Surface Search Radar with a range of 8/4/2 miles to Large/Small/Very Small surface ships.
Annex G3
The following radars were not included in the specs table:
AI MklV range 2.6
AI MkVIII range 5.6/1.7. Range is to Front Side. Forward arc is 30° (+/-15°)
AI MkX range 8.7 nm with full(normal) arc.
ASV MkX: Range 70 nm
FuG 200 Hohentweil: range 43 nm
Scenarb Booklet
Otranto Straita:
Little is known about the Ramb III Armed Merchant Cruiser called for in
the setup. It was a pre-war banana boat, probably a C-size merchant of 2000 grt = 38 damage points, probably carrying a pair of 100mm or 120mm. Use F/A(1)2 OTO 1928 100mm/47 in local control. Also give it 2 Breda 1932 37mm/52, with a Lt AA rating of .4.
Operation Excess:
The Submarine class listings provided are incorrect. Adua and Axum are part of the Adua class, Banderia and Santorre Santarosa are part of the Banderia class, and Ruggeno Settimo is part of Settembrini class.
The Scott class DL Stuart is listed in Annex A as the "Admiralty Scott Class.
