Hallmark Figures, 30 Haigh Wood Road, Cookridge, Leeds LS 16 6PB, England, sells naval miniatures for the Napoleonic, Renaissance, 1800s, and WW II periods. Their WW II line is extensive, and they are 1/6000th scale! They deliberately picked a scale of one foot equals one nautical mile so that the miniatures can be used at true ground scale, if the players wish. Of course, capital ships are no more than an inch long, but the cost is also much less than the 1/2400s. For example, the entire Italian Navy, which is listed as 7 BBs, 25 cruisers, and 46 destroyers, can be purchased for £ 21.80. You can also buy ship classes individually. Typical prices are £ 1.80 for a pack with four Iowas or 8 Gearings. No ships below destroyer size appear to be modeled except for some LCMs and LCTs. The line covers Britain, Germany, Italy, Japan, the USA, and Russia. The examples I saw were well-molded and had plenty of detail. Surface postage is 30% of order value, and Air Postage is 50% of order value. Reduce the percentage by 5% if the order is over £ 25. They take credit card orders or International Money Orders. They take phone orders, too, (0113) 267 6075. One US distributor is The Emperor's Headquarters, 5744 W. Irvine Park Rd., Chicago, IL 60634.
