by Norman E. Harms, Scale Specialties, 2000, 245 pp, $40.00 During WW II, the US Office of Naval Intelligence published a lot of good information on enemy and friendly forces. These books were accurate, included a lot of photos and art, and covered the not-so spectacular craft as well as the flashy combatants. After all, a sailor or aviator was much more likely to run across a Japanese freighter than a battleship. visit his website at www.ss-sms.com. It's definitely worth the money. Mr. Harms has taken on the task of digitizing these rare documents, which sell for $100 or more (when you can find them). This CD has two books, ONI 208-J Supplement 2, covering far eastern small craft, and ONI 223M, titled ""Merchant Ship Shapes." Both documents are stored on the disk in Adobe Acrobat format. Mr. Harms is already working on a second volume, which will cover Japanese Warships, and a total of eight are planned. You can order the CD. His phone is (714) 535-7486.
