Mr. Brooks Rowlett has taken over editorship of the Naval Wargaming Review, and is always looking for new subscribers. The newsletter covers all periods of naval wargaming, and provides several scenarios, often extensive in each issue. In the April '99 issue of the Naval SITREP, we published an excellent article by Mr. Rowlett on a planned joint US-Soviet invasion of Shimushu during the last days of WW II. Only the atomic bomb and the sudden end of hostilities prevented the operation from being carried out. Brooks sent the following note with additional information: "Mark Hayes of the Naval Historical Center sent me a URL with information on the Japanese tanks on Shimushu in 1945. From that page, I found a link to a brief discussion of Japanese Army & Navy Organizations in WW II, which is: http://www.interq.or.jp/japan/maisov/e/index.htm The page with the Japanese tank information that covers the Shimushu battle is: http://member.nifty.ne.jp/takixxx/ Brooks A Rowlett
