REMARKS

Four Type 93 reload torps carried for each mount. Carried special reloading gear for TT, reload time 6 min.

  • 1942/43: 2 DC rail w/8 DC, (2)2 Model 94 Y-guns w/8 DC, 36 DC carried.
  • Mid-43: Light AA increased to 10 Type 96 25mm (2 twin and 2 triple), Kai 3 and Model 3 ESM installed.
  • Late 43: Gun armament changed to F/A(2)2 5 in, 14 Type 96 25mm, 36 DCs, Type 3 Mark 1 Model 3 and Mark 2 Model 2 radar fitted to some units. Type 93 sonars replaced by Type 3 Model 2 (active) sonar. Hamakaze first Japanese DD fitted with radar, Yukikaze also fitted.
  • Jun 44: Survivors carried 18-28 25mm and 4 13mm.
  • Dec 44: Y ukikaze fitted with Type 3 Model 2 (active) sonar..
