Many possible armament variations. On any boat the aft two torpedo tubes can be replaced by 4 Mk1 roll-off racks with one Mk6 DC each. 1943: Early units were fitted with Army SCR-517C radars, later standard fit was SO or SO3 radar. 1943: The 21" TT were replaced by roll-off racks for the Mk13 22.5 inch torpedo. 1944: Add (8)2 Mk8 five-inch rocket launchers. These are fixed in train, and the boat mount spend the last half of the previous Movement Phase, and end the turn, facing directly at the target. Roll to hit as a gun mount in local control. Mar 45: Replace the Mk8 five-inch rocket launchers with PW/ SW(8)2 Mk50 trainable five-inch rocket launchers. Movement restrictions before firing are removed, but the mount still rolls to hit like a gun in local control. Gun configuration as built (2)2 .50 cal, A(1)1 Mk4 20mm. Possible modified configurations:
