The Far East Russian Magazine, at vladivostok.com/rus_mag/eng covers more than just military affairs, but has included several interesting pieces. Issue #3 covered "Explosions of Military Depots." and #2 had a piece titles "First Submarines on the Pacific Ocean." Other articles deal with local history, politics, and local culture. The site www.sevastopol.com/weapons does not seem to have a direct link to its parent site (www.sevastopol.com), but it is a fascinating and informative page on ex-Soviet/Russian weapons systems. All types of air, ground, and naval equipment is covered, with an emphasis on marketing and sales. Recent updates to the page include color images and information on the Bora [Dergach] class, and the MiG- I-42 and Sukhoi S-37 designs. Military Parade, a slick defense journal published in Russia, is accessible on the web at www.milparade.ru. They offer a subscription to their online magazine, but also provide a lot of free information and illustrations. "Elevon" is a private web page maintained by Carl Pettypiece on a Canadian university computer. It's an excellent aviation site, with access to several extensive aviation databases and links to dozens of others. I'm mentioning it here because I found a lot of good data on Russian aircraft here. The address is www.csd.uwo.ca/~pettypi/elevon. Another general site with access to information on Russian platforms is www.ping.be.ipms/lists/boats.html. It's a link index to dozens of naval-related web sites including ones on Russian, Chinese, British ships. It's part of a naval modeling web page. Check out www.navismagazine.com.
