Command at Sea

Supermarina II is at the printers. We know it's late, but it will be available by late October.

Biplanes and Battleships is also late, due to hardware problems. There's been a lot of that going around this summer. If all goes well, it will be released sometime in early 1998. In response to many questions, the second and third parts of the scenario books draw heavily from War Plan Orange and other discussions of American war plans between World War I and II.

The first part, based on Hector C. Bywater's The Great Pacific War, is faithful to the book, even when some of Mr. Bywater's predictions and assumptions have been proven wrong by history.

The next release after Biplanes and Battleships will be the boxed game Fear God and Dreadnought, which includes the new rules covering WW I naval combat, the scenario booklet High Seas Fleet, a (fat) Annex book, and counter sheets for the era.

Harpoon 4

Sea of Dragons is in draft and will be released in time for Christmas. Its 28 scenarios will cover many different potential Asian conflicts, including Korea, the Spratlys, Indonesia, and Taiwan.

To keep costs down, the scenario and annex books will be released shrink-wrapped, with two half-sheets of counters between them. Projected cost will be $46.00

White Ensign, by Andy Doty, is well along, almost 90% complete. It will provide stats for all British Commonwealth ships and aircraft in service from 1960 on. Andy originally wanted to cover all Commonwealth ships from 1946 on, but size constraints limited us to the Harpoon era (1960 on). As it is, White Ensign will be 96 pages, including not only Annexes A and B and supporting annexes, but information on Royal Navy air group compositions during the period and a description of possible trouble spots.

Flash!
