As the publisher of the Naval SITREP, I thought it would be appropriate to describe my goals and objectives in taking on the challenge of publishing a quarterly newsletter. Like many of you, I was an avid subscriber to Harpoon SITREP, the newsletter formerly published by Game Designer's Workshop I figured the best way to expand the customer base for my own products would be to bring new information to the many people who might be interested in naval miniatures with a unique magazine that would help them enjoy their hobby. I wanted to expand the scope of the magazine to include eras for which I manufacture ships. In order for one to put on an intelligent simulation of the battle of Tsushima, for example, one must first have a historical order of battle. If I could provide such information, perhaps I could sell more ships. I also wanted to expand the hobby of naval miniatures by providing copies of our newsletter to libraries, military bases and educational institutions. Each edition of the Naval SITREP will provide a number of historical reference points from which one can embark upon additional research. Please write to us if you are interested In a particular topic. Your input is invaluable and will help determine the future of the Naval SITREP.
