Applied Computing Services, Inc. (ACSI) original developers and copyright holders of the Computer Harpoon line, are pleased to announce the signing of a license agreement with Alliance Interactive of Ft Lauderdale, Florida for the original Harpoon v1.x series of products. This agreement does not affect Three Sixty's (ed. Intercorp/Capstone's) Harpoon II product. Harpoon I has been the best selling computer wargame of its type. Over 200,000 copies of the game and a like number of BattleSets have been sold since its introduction in 1989. ACSI and Alliance are pleased to announce version 1.5 of Harpoon, to be called Harpoon Classic. The upgrade will be performed by many of the original programmers who worked on the product through version 1.21. The upgrade includes a number of bug fixes, interface enhancements, and as well as new scenarios for both the Macintosh and IBM PC platforms. The product will ship on CD ROM only and includes:
In addition, work has started on Harpoon Classic for WINDOWS version 1.5. We will update the public on our progress bringing the number one naval wargame to the number one selling operating system!
