On Friday October 30, 1998, Tom Dye, Bill Winski, and Doug Carey, of Aurora, Colorado, announced their acquisition of MINIFIGS USA, of Cincinnati, Ohio. Mr. Dye and Mr. Winski are the owners and operators of ATTACTIX, one of the premier retail game stores in the US. Mr. Carey is employed as manager of ATTACTIX. MINIFIGS USA has been in business for more than 20 years and has, under license, the exclusive rights to manufacture and distribute the entire range of MINIFIGS UK products within the Western Hemisphere. For more than 30 years MINIFIGS UK has been providing quality miniature figurines and accessories to game enthusiasts and collectors. Tom Dye will assume the management of MINIFIGS USA, while Bill Winski, who has 20 years retail experience in the game industry, will continue to oversee the retail operations of ATTACTIX. Doug Carey will maintain his position as manager of ATTACTIX. When asked what changes could be expected for MINIFIGS USA, Mr. Dye answered: "First we will be moving the company to Aurora (Colorado). Once we get production up and running we will introduce a couple of new and exciting lines that have never before been available in the US. We are also going to make a concerted effort to make MINIFIGS available in more retail stores. Additionally, we intend on having a corporate presence at major gaming conventions around the country. ATTACTIX, located in Aurora, Colorado, was founded in March of 1 993 and has earned the reputation of being one of the foremost retailers of Adventure Gaming products in North America.
