You are probably receiving this letter because you either purchased some FUSILIER figures in the last 3-4 years, or wrote in and requested one of bur catalogs. Some copies are also going out to people who have expressed interest in our efforts in the past, and like to be kept informed. Anyway, we are letting you all know personally that FUSILIER figures is about to cease all operation. Some of you may know that these figures were designed and marketed by MINIFIG durinq the 1970's, were discontinued by the folks in White Plains, and were subsequently purchased in 1981 by a group of 6 wargamers who wanted to keep then available and round out their own collections of 30mm figures. While they are listed as 30mm, they are quite compatible in size with the current generation of 25s, like the Connoisseur figures that Peter Gilder is producing these days. We advertised in the COURIER for a number of years, managed to fill all orders received (sooner or later), and put most of whatever profits there were into getting some new figures designed (some of them worked out, some didn't). Throughout the entire period, we continued to sell the figures at the same price they sold for in 1975. Nobody at FUSILIER draws any salary; the only privilege associated with ownership was having a say in what new figures would be designed. we have managed to keep up with. the casting requirements on a one-night-a-week basis, but it is starting to get old, and people are getting too busy to donate the time, so we would like to wrap it up, and get out of the business. But we would not like to leave anybody with half-units or bad feelings, as is often the case when a line is discontinued. As of 1 January 1989, the complete FUSILIER line, to include molds, master figures, and manufacturing rights, is for sale to anyone who will commit to keeping the lint available to the wargaming public. If we find a buyer, we will send out notification to this same mailing list, indicating where you can purchase FUSILIER in the future. While we are seeking a buyer, we will continue to accept and fill orders. If we have not found a buyer by 30 June 1989, we will simply close down and lock things away. We will honor all orders that we receive until, 1 May 1989, or until such time as the line is sold. They may not actually get filled until August or so, but we do guarantee that the orders will eventually be filled. Your interest in this effort is appreciated.
