New Wargaming Products 1987

(1) Jeff Jones reports that Quality Castings Inc., PO Box 11714, Alexandria, VA, 22312 has released some of their fine 15mm scale AFV's and Infantry. They produce WWII and now are casting modem US and Russian AFV's and infantry. Jeff adds that they are nicely cast and he recommends them highly, Thanks, Jeff.

(2) Mike Adams of Chicago reports that Garrison, through SKT Wargame Figures has released new Mycenean Greek 1600 BC to 1150 BC figures. There are 11 figures, each with open hands for separate weapons, Foot figures are .75, mtd are 1.65 while the chariot is 6.95, I believe that Soldier World (see ad on page 37 for address) carries Garrison figures. There are heavy cavalry, spearman advancing 8 defending with a variety of shields; javelin/slinger, medium and light archers; heavy javelinman, chariot (early) and dismounted chariot crew. There appear to be many variations of each figure.

(3) Carl Walsh, PO Box 147, Buffalo, NY 14240 sent me a copy of his Lady Liberty militaria/military book catalog which runs 48 pages and covers a variety of periods. Looked like some good things on the SYW, Nanoleonics, WWII, etc.

(4) Stone Mountain Miniatures (see ad on inside back cover) is now the exclusive North American agent for Chariot Miniatures, an English firm which makes the early Chariot armies, They offer 15mm figures with a high degree of detail 8 animation. Company spokesman Dave Babb reported that in addition to the 15mm figures, Chariot Miniatures is also planning to release a line of 6mm figures in the near future. Both the 15mm and 6mm will be cast by Stone Mountain and the 15mm figures should be available by the time you read this.

(5) Battle Honours America, 17 Ridge Road, Budd Lake, N,J, 07828 (201-691-2423) has released some additions to their Waterloo British line, namely 10 infantry (centre 8 flank company figures) $ two cavalry (Household trooper 8 light Dragoon). Also released were two Russian figures and three Portuguese (2 infantry, 1 cavalry). These are fine 15mm figures. They expect to soon release their 15mm artillery with British 61b and 91b and French 81b guns being first. Soon to come are the Russian cavalry and the beginning of the Austrian releases.

(6) Munro Miniatures, PO Box 1512, Camberia, CA 93428 *805-927-5134), the old Scruby Miniatures, has 25mm Franco-Prussian War figures available Prices are .70/foot; 1/40/cavalry. French, Prussian and Bavarians are available. They offer discounts to wargame clubs and group orders!

(7) Editions Brokaw, C/O Pat Condray, 8234 Kings Arm Drive, Alexandria, VA 22308 has released Swedes $ Russians in 15mm to add to their line for the War of Spanish Succession. fO cavalry or 20 foot with command or 3 battalion guns, 6 gunners or 2 field guns w/8gunners are $3.50.

(8) The famous book CHARGE! by Brig, Peter Young 6 Col, Lawford is now available in a reprint edition. These are rules for approximately the SYW period and are very enjoyable and fun rules. In addition, the book is delightfully written! Copies are available from THE COURIER, PO Box 1878, Brockton, MA 02401 for $20.

(9) Be reminded that Die Kaiserzeit, 83 Atlantic St., Keyport, NJ 07735 carries 25mm figures of the Imperial German Army and its adversaries, 1870-1918. If anyone has any of these figures, I'd appreciate a review as I have never seen them. Send $2.00 for a catalog to the above address.

(10) Lynn Bodin of SAVAGE 6 SOLDIER reports that ESCI has released a third box of 2Omm scale wargames figures for the Colonial period consisting of the Kiber Pass British infantry. Lynn further states that the figures in the box are the same as the Zulu War set but that 10 British have been replaced by Sikh figures.
