The Volume Five MWAN Special Issue topic will be on the Colonial period and will include the French-Indian War. It appears, based on reader responses that there still is a huge interest in the Colonial period and many listed the French-Indian War as a period they would like to see the special issue devoted to as well. I would like to make this special the best MWAN publication yet and hope to exceed 60 pages so I am hoping for a good turn-out of articles on the subjects listed above!!! Anything relating to the Colonial/French-Indian War period concerned with uniforms, organization, scenarios, historical articles with wargaming applications, scenary, home-grown wargaming rules, reviews of figures/rules, etc., would be greatly appreciated. I already have about ten articles, including a set of Zulu War rules which are quite good, to publish on the period so we are off to a good start. Don't forget that the Colonial period also encompasses the American Indian Wars as well as a number of other interesting periods. I will again attempt to publish everything submitted so start those articles and send them in! The special issue will appear in the March-April issue of MWAN and I would appreciate any articles by the middle of January, 1987 as I suspect I will have a lot of typing to do. If you are a good typist, consider typing it yourself using single spaces and leave three-quarters of an inch on each side and one inch on the top and bottom of the pages. Please use a new typewriter ribbon (black!!!) so that it comes out well when printed! These guidelines would be appreciated. As usual, subscribers will receive the special issue at no increased price although the price at hobby stores/back issues will be increased considerably over the normal price due to increased cost of printing/production. Hoping to hear from you all soon and thanks for your support of previous MWAN special issues!
