MWAN Name Change?

by Hal Thinglum

Long-time subscriber Glenn Grundei, of Cincinnati, Ohio, recently wrote and suggested that MWAN change its name so as to be able to attract more readers from other parts of the country. Glenn felt that the name "Midwestern" may denote a "regional" newsletter which may result in gamers outside of the midwest feeling that it would not be of interest of them. I have thought of this previously and Glenn's remark prompted me to analyze the readership's geographic location. Surprisingly enough, only 56% of the membership can be said to be from midwestern states while 15% hails from the west, 15% from the east, 10% from the south, and 4% from foreign countries. Thirty-four states and five foreign countries are represented. Although MWAN began as a regional newsletter, I do not feel it is such any longer. If anyone has any ideas as to what it could be called, I could appreciate hearing about it. I would like to keep the letters MWAN, but add something after it. Let me know what you thing about this obviously important issue.
