Editor's Note: Mike seems to have become our resident Ancients reviewer and I welcome him to the task. He has huge armies in the ancients periods with figures from a variety of companies and thus, is well qualified to review these lines. Lamming Miniature 25mm: The Lamming range has interchangeable heads and weapons. The line is very good with the figures being on the chucky side. Detail is very good and the figures have very little flash. I recommend this fine line. Both Soldier World, USA, PO Box 175, Shrewsbury, PA, 17361 and Modeler's Mart, 2071 Range Rd., Clearwater, FL 33575 carry this fine line. RAFM, 19 Concession, Ontario, Canada: These 25mm figures would be great for the siege of Jerusalem. I'll help by using one of my three Roman Legions (Editor's Note: I think Mike is referring to a possible group project of putting together a wargaming scenario such as the PW group did with the Alamo). In the last newsletter, I forgot to mention that RAFM ancients have separate heads, shields, and weapons. You can build your own army from the lists by sending for the catalog supplement. At RockCon I asked RAFM what they have in the works in ancients for next your and they may be producing Celts, Britons, Thracians and Dacians. I'll be looking forward to them! The figures listed below are taken from the armies of the Macedonian and Punic Wars: AH51-Maccabean Thureophoros; AH52-Maccabean Slinger; AH53-Jewish Archer; AH54-Jewish Javelinman; AH55-Maccabean Lt. Cavalry. All are great figures! Q.T. Models: Available from Asp Import Miniatures, 1021 107th Street, Bloomington, Mn. 55431. These are 25mm figures and because it is such a large line of figures I will just review some. All figures have separate heads & weapons. Also, for the ancients gamer who wishes to build his own army, there's also a supplement that helps a great deal giving point values for each figure, plus body, weapons, and shield to use. Just write Glen; it costs $1.00. I have purchased several Greek Light and L.M.I. units, all have separate heads and weapons. All were flash free with excellent detail and poses. Great line! Also has new renaissance and ACW ranges which have separate heads.
