Busy

by Michael S. Cosentino

Greetings fellow MWANers!

Well, April, May and June have been a very busy month for the MWAN team. The convention schedule continues to roll on. We attended Little Wars in April, CanGames in May and Origins in June. We have also been expanding circulation. Things are really cooking in the of MWAN Magazine offices!

Right now we are in the middle of our peak convention season. With GAMA Trade Show and Cold Wars behind us, Little Wars was our main focus, especially since 1 was the Convention Director. While we at MWAN Magazine did not have a booth in the vendor area, we did continue with our March/April giveaways of the new MWAN Magazine. We also provided a copy of Kampfgruppe Commander WWII rules to every GM. For a full recap of Little Wars see the Convention Wrap-Up in this issue. If you are or can get to the Midwest in the spring, this is one show you will not want to miss!

Also in May, Don and I traveled up to CanGames in Canada. This was a great little mixed convention. The convention was filled with friendly people, good games and great beer. We even got to play in a excellent D-Day Juno Beach game. We both played Canadians (North Shore Regiment). While I was trying to be heroic, storming the beaches, Don was advancing slow and steady. I was torn to pieces on the beach. Don however managed to reach the Atlantic wall with almost no casualties. By doing this, he turned out to be our savior during the town assault. He managed to capture a gun and wipe out numerous German squads. This was my first Canadian gaming convention I have attended. To sum up, two things come to mind about this show: friendly people and great beer. For us, the show was very enjoyable.

The word continues to spread about the new format for MWAN Magazine. With our giveaways at GAMA Trade Show,. Little Wars, Cold Wars, Kublacon & HMGS PSW's Spring Convention, more copies have circulated across the continent. We currently have distributors in both Canada & England. I am currently looking for ones in the Pacific Rim & Continental Europe. If you don't see MWAN Magazine in your area, drop me a line so we can get you into our coverage area.

The latest news here has been the acquisition of True North Miniatures. We have agreed to take over Dave Jackson's excellent World War II figure line. True North Miniatures has the most extensive range of early war 15mm WWII on the market. We also have a great range of 1:144 scale aircraft to compliment the WWII figures. Also, we are working on a range of 28mm WWII figures. We will be at Historicon in the vendor area selling True North Miniatures. It looks like Dave Jackson, the former owner, will be joining us there! Our website at truenorthminis.com is coming along. We're in the process of implementing an online store. We will be releasing many new figures and packs in the coming months, so stay turned.

Next up for us here at MWAN Magazine is Historicon in July. We will have a full report in the next issue of MWAN on our fun in the vendor area, and any thoughts we might have on how we broke all of Don's rules from his last Editorial. He'll learn yet!.

Have a safe summer and good gaming!.
