Welcome to the first issue of the new MWAN magazine. I am very excited to work with Don Perrin and Kathy Plamback on MWAN Magazine. We do have our work cut out for us and look forward to the challenge. We will continue to bring all your favorite parts of MWAN Magazine you have enjoyed from the past and add some new flair. With winter almost over, it is time to get into our convention seasons. I have a very busy season coming with attending Cold Wars and the GAMA Trade Show in March. 1 will be running Little Wars in April. May is an off month from the convention circuit, thank goodness! I have Origins in June, Historicon in July and GenCon in August. In the Fall, I have both Rock Con and Fall In. That is a full schedule of traveling for me, not including the Board meetings that I attend with HMGS-East. My job at MWAN Magazine will be to work with all our advertisers and magazine retailers. I am the main point of contact for advertisers to get their word out in the magazine. Retail outlets are also part of my purview. If you have a local retail shop (or you are one!) and you'd like to carry MWAN Magazine, please contact me. We offer very generous terms. I am going to focus on personal attention and customer service. These two items are critical in making a successful magazine. To date, I have had excellent response from people. What helps make my job easy is the quality of work Don and Kathy do and the content submitted to us. "Content is King" and that's what makes MWAN Magazine the best value in the hobby. With all I have going on, I am still going to Game Master events at some of the shows. I have been working on my Gangster project for a few years now and it is finally ready to bring to some shows. I will unveil it at Little Wars in April. I have to thank all the people that have helped me and pitched-in on this: John Barsanti, Herb Gundt, Bob Bowling, Curt Murff, Vince Clyant, Bob Giglio, Steve Lawrence, Forest Nichols, Michael Mayes, David Bonk, Jay Hadley, Uncle Duke, and all of you who helped me playtest. I do have to say that I have a great group of guys who are always willing to help me. I never have to make them an offer they cannot refuse. I look forward to helping make MWAN Magazine a leader in the industry. If you have any comments, criticisms or suggestions, please feel free to pass them on to us. Without our contributing editors and readers, MWAN Magazine would not be here today. And none of us would be here if Hal had not started this 23 years ago. We owe him a lot! I hope to see you at a convention or gaming table.
