Introducing SAGA Publishing

New Historical Booklets

By Terry Gore

The aim of SAGA Publishing is to develop a series of booklets dealing with ancient and medieval military history. Each 8 1/2 x 11" booklet will run from 48-96 pages and include photos, maps and illustrations to augment the text. In addition, the booklets will have fill color, glossy covers.

There are several series of booklets that will be published. These include Famous Battles of History; Wars and Warfare; and Military Organizations.

There are three booklets planned so far for the Famous Battles series; The Campaign for England -1066 (Terry Gore); The Battle of Grunwald - 1410 (David Bonk); and the Battles of Adrianople and Chalons (Terry Gore).

The Wars and Warfare series has four titles so far; Defending Judaea - The RomanJudaean War (Jim Bloom); The Arthurian Wars (Mark Bloom); Medieval Battles and Leaders (Terry Gore); and The Wars of the Roses (Jeff Ball & Terry Gore).

The Military Organizations series has one booklet thus far; The Byzantine Military (Perry Gray).

We hope to appeal to the military historian and armchair general as well as the miniature wargaming community through the inclusion of scenarios for use with the Medieval Warfare rules, Warhammer Ancient Battles and DBA. Each booklet will include maps that will allow scenario designers to utilize miniature armies in order to replicate the battles contained within.

In addition to the above works, SAGA Publishing also has several other booklets currently available. These include the award winning Medieval Warfare Rules (Terry Gore); Renaissance Warfare Rules (Jeff Ball and Terry Gore); Ancient Warfare Rules (Terry Gore and Bruce Taylor); Armies of the Dark Ages and Feudal Ages 450-1200 A.D. and Armies of the Age of Chivalry and the Later Middle Ages 1200-1500 A.D. (both titles Perry Gray and Terry Gore). These can be accessed for more detail on our web site, http://www.saga-publishing.com.
