I am the proud owner of over 33,000 toy soldiers. My armies cover periods from 1500 B.C. to the present. My favorite scale is 15mm, followed by 25mm, and other scales. I did all that work so I could run my own campaign, like Tony Bath's Hyborian Campaign. Now that I have done that with my Volci Campaign which lasted two and a half years and included twenty players, I am not trying to decide what I want to do next. I came up with random army charts that I have been playing for the last three years. Now I am looking for other directions in which to take myself in the hobby. I also enjoy running games for other players. I enjoy coming up with a cunning little game that is more than a set piece battle. That reminds me of a game that I ran where one of the players had to build a bridge if he wanted to cross the river. There was plenty of wood, but it was all in the forest, and to get it, he had to attack the trees. The only problem was that the forest was guarded by treemen who he had to defeat in combat before he would finish his bridge. In another game I had a shepherd who knew the location of a ford that would allow the attacking army to cross a river and outflank the defending force. Otherwise, the defending force held a highly defendable position which could be held indefinately. I have also run the 10,000 Miniature Monster Battle, 15,000 and 5000 Ancient Monster Battles. For these games I wrote my own rules. Then there was the Viking Slaughter Fest Battle. Wargaming has given me a chance to use my creative abilities and my imagination. That's what I like best!
