First of all, Id like to thank everyone who responded to my plea (!) for articles for this issue. I very much appreciate it. After sending #116 off to the printer, I realized I didn't have a single article for #117 so I e-mailed the first one hundred MWANers in my address book. I think you'll be pleased with the results you see in this issue. Thank you again to all of you! Hobby publications, such as MWAN, are entirely dependent upon the literary efforts of thoughtful subscribers who contribute, not for monetary remuneration, but rather, for the sake of providing entertainment and enjoyment for others. All of us, who enjoy their efforts, owe them a sincere debt of gratitude and I more than anyone else. Please consider joining these contributors by sending in an article, letter, review, or whatever you so desire. My hobby activities have been minimal as of late. Work has kept me occupied and will continue to do so for sometime to come. However, I did attend the LITTLE WARS convention outside of Chicago and although I was only able to stay for several hours, I enjoyed myself greatly and was very impressed with the quality of the convention. My congratulations to all involved in hosting the event! I picked up some terrain items from Andrew Doyle of 3-D Contours, whose work I greatly admire. Some very useful ridge sections and some 25mm beautifully done fence sections for use with my 25mm WWII Russian Front project. I've been collecting "village" items for this period for some time; it's amazing how much is available out there for projects like this! Ever since I started my 20mm American Civil War Project, I've been planning on obtaining the 20mm Musket Miniatures ACW buildings and finally did several weeks ago. It is my intention to prime these excellent structures black and try my hand at painting them. What I'd like to see is for an MWANer to write an article on painting buildings. I'm not sure we've ever had anything like that before. All I need now for the project is decide what I'm going to do my fences. I want to be able to mount them on terrained bases; sometime ago, I had Jeff Lista of WARGAMES ACCESSORIES special cut some thin, long metal stands for me for this purpose thinking I would mount my fences in this manner and this is still a possibility. Twenty-five years ago, when I was doing my 15mm ACW project, I used model railroad ties to construct fences and placed them on tempered hardboard forming small fields. I don't know if I have the patience to do this again or not. Also, with all of the commercial products available, I have definitely become spoiled! See you next issue thanks for your support of MWAN!
