Wargamers are a predictable lot. Most of the games that we put on always involve the same old armies fighting each other. With the figures that are available today, a person can fight just about any battle that they want to if a gamer can get over the historical period only figures, you can put on some games.

Greg Novak got me hooked on the Major Dundee game several years ago, This is a great fun little game. The entire game is based on the old movie of the same name. At the time Greg started this game, the figures for the French and the Mexicans was very limited. By using some French Napoleonics for some of the Belgium Legion. Austrian Legion and some of the Mexican units. Greg had a fun enjoyable game. There is now available the actual figures to represent the different units.

Fire & Fury has several very nice games with the British invading the New England's states with some confederate help during the ACW. A person could use some British Napoleonics for this.

In the Napoleonics, everybody has the French and the major war powers fighting each other. With the variety of figures available, a person can have close to all of the actual armies involved In one of our large campaigns in Russia, we had a small French army with support of Austria, Prussia, Poles and several small French allies attack the Russians It, this timeframe. there are numerous actions of small allies fighting the major powers.

In the WWII range, a person can create almost anything. Have the Russians attacked the Italians & Prussians at Stalingrad with a German rear guard coming up to support them. When you are gaming in Russia. remember that the Russians used tanks and armored cars from the late 1930's and the early part of 1940's during the entire war.

Remember that this hobby of ours is suppose to be fun. The uniforms might not be exactly right when vou use different troops, but the games will be fun.
