I've kindly been invited as guest of honor, along with Pat Condray, to the BAYOU WARS Convention in early June, and am looking forward to going. I'll be doing a game - 15mm ECW Battle of Edgehill, using Howard Whitehouse's IRONSIDES rules. For the first time, I'll be taking my family along - we are driving down to New Orleans. Hope to see many MWANers down there. I still can't get my scanner to work right, thus, we'll have to hold off on the "Letters" section for another issue. Sorry about this! This issue is a little heftier - I've added 32 pages and hopefully can continue with this increased length, dependent upon submissions. Please consider contributing something whether it be an article, letter, or rules set. David Jackson of TRUE NORTH PRODUCTIONS (e-mail: JacksonD@DFO-MPO.GC.CA) announces he has released 10mm PERRIN MINIATURES WWII German figures with vehicles coming out soon. I've been branching out with my figure collecting lately purchasing OLD GLORY Mutineer figures to fill out my NWF (Sikh War, 1860's, 2 nd Afghan War, and 1890's), getting lots(!) of WWII 25mm from Harlequin Miniatures and West Wind Productions and 15mm Peninsular War (AB MINIATURES) It's been occurring to me that there exists a real "niche" for a set of WWII rules which will fit the new 25mm scale and allow "larger than skirmish gaining". I see an analogy here between what happened with THE SWORD AND THE FLAME rules and the current 25mm WWII Stuff Everyone loved the rules and purchased more and inore figures until the size of the armies surpassed what the rules could comfortably handle I find it so difficult to resist the new WWII 25mm releases of both figures and vehicles even though I know having WWII figures and vehicles in this scale on the tabletop is going to present some real problems scale wise See you next issue.
