I received this item from long-time MWANer Terry Cabak as I was going to press and didn't have time to send it out for review. However, I feel it is so important that I am including information on it listed below and will send it out to someone to review for NMAN # 104. I was very impressed with Terry's efforts and think you will be as well. I should add that my daughter Anne brought a friend home from college for a few days prior to the holiday. He accessed Terry's CD and although he had never heard of "wargaming miniatures", he spent several hours browsing through it - this can't be a bad thing, can it! If anyone orders it from Terry and would like to do a review, please feel free to do so. Good work, Terry. My congratulations on a "state-of-the-art" approach! "The Wargames CD" ($45 mail order; dealer inquiries welcome) Imagine Image Multimedia, a company working to create innovative products to re-invigorate, create further interest and gain new members into the hobby of the wargames with historic miniatures, today announces completion of "The Wargames CY - a compilation of rules and utilities to help historic miniature wargamers. With 4 rules created by the author Terry Cabak, and including sample rules donated by others, the CD contents are presented to the viewer using a slideshow produced in Microsoft PowerPoint, and also contains helpful utilities such as Microsoft Works Database OOB's File Cards for American Civil War Brigades, Ancient/Medieval Legions and World War Two Platoons, and American Civil War Flags that users can type unit names and print themselves, and an assortment of maps and Scenarios. To make use of and have flexibility of using the databases for their own battles, viewers must already have access to Microsoft Works 4.x but the OOB's and scenarios are view and printable with Acrobat Reader as well. Other rules include "Beer & Pretzels" Ironclads for Civil War naval actions, and "Santa Anna Rules" for those interested in wargames of skirmish level and the War with Mexico. Pending availability for inclusion is also "An Army of Professionals" and "Tomahawk & Musket" both rules for the American Revolution miniature wargaming. The Microsoft PowerPoint interface also periodically includes slides advertising the services of capabable wargame hobby stores and miniatures vendors. A slide of website links is also helpful for new gamers intersted in military history gaming, learning or travel. Other fun slides include Banners for Roman and ancient or medieval armies, and a siege tower that users can print onto cardstock and fold up themselves to use in miniature games. Being the exclusive distributor for Game Mapper 61, the Windows Map Drawing program created by Wes Rogers, the program is also included in the CD as well as having some scenario maps created with the program for gamers to use or alter as they wish.
