Remember that award I mentioned in the introduction to DORK TOWER #9? The one I was up for? The one that was given out by my old college newspaper? The University of Wisconsin Daily Cardinal?

THE WILLIAM WESLEY YOUNG AWARD

"This award, named after the Cardinal's founder, recognizes a former Cardinal staff member who has been off the staff for at least five years and has enjoyed early prominence in a profession related to Cardinal staff work. A recipient must show promise for future accomplishment in his or her field."

Well (ahem - looks at shoes modestly. Shuffle, shuffle) I won it.

My in-laws even came down for the dinner, which was fabulous. And I got the chance to go out with some great friends I hadn't seen in years.
