Dork Tower 1999 ORIGINS Award

Nominated, but Loses!

by John Kovalic

You don't like me! You really don't like me! (grin)

Yes, it's true.We lost. But I had the last laugh. The sweet, sweet beer of consolation tastes FAR better than the bitter, petty brew of celebration. Let's face it: when Sam Adams is your only friend, it tastes that much more toothsome.

Actually, since this if Dork Tower's first year nominated, and since we only had three issues out at the time of nomination, I never really expected to win. It WAS a great honor to be nominated, though. And my heartiest congratulations go out to the Knights of the Dinner Table folks, who walked away with the well-deserved award.

Thanks to everyone who voted for Dork Tower, by the way. Not sure what the final vote count was, but I'm told some official-types were expecting the upset. It's so mice when people lie to sooth your feelings. Grin.

Major props to James Ernest for his job hosting the Origins awards ceremony, by the way. It was a terrifically cool ceremony. Even if you happened to be on the losing end of it.
