Apples to Apples Clarifications

by John Kovalic

Two clarifications from the last e-mail:

The store in Maine sold 180 copies, not 1809. The problem came when I put the exclamation mark in parenthesis at the end, but missed the shift key. So "180(!)" came out as "1809!)". Don't want to mislead people.

Still, the fact remains that blowing through nearly 5,000 copies of the game in about a month is a magnificent achievement by the Out of the Box folks.

Second clarification: The game is DEAD easy to play. The MENSA review seems to have scared a few folks. Don't worry about it. It takes 30 second to learn, and 30 second to play a hand. It's a great game, and I feel extremely fortunate to have helped in its development and graphic design.

It's a ton of fun, and LOTS of laughter is produced around the table when a game's in progress.

The box of the second printing will be changed slightly, so that folks with a first edition may well find themselves with a collector's item on their hands. The second press run begins in August, so if you pick up a game before then, it's guaranteed to be a first edition.

I'll update folks on the changes between first- and second- edition as I find more out.
