      3 platoons@ 4 MMG
      0-1 platoon: 2x 81mm Type 99 mortars or 70mm Type 92, Obsolete FC
      0-1 platoon: 4x 20mm Type 98 AA or 4x 37mm Type 94 A/T guns or 3x 47mm Type 1 A/T guns, horses

National Volunteer Service Battalion (Japan only, 1945+)

    Bttn HQ: 2 rifle/musket squads
    3-5 Companies@ 150 civilians with spears, swords, molotovs, lunge mines, longbows and/or crossbows

2. Brigade Support

    Infantry Brigade HQ: 6 rifle sqds, horses with up to:

    1 A/T Company:

      CHQ: 1 rifle sqd
      2-4 platoons@ 2x 37mm Type 97 or 47mm Type 1

    1 Engineer Company:

      CHQ: 2 rifle sqds
      2 platoons@ 5 rifle/engineer sqds, 1 flamethrower, 4 LMG

    1 Artillery Regiment:

      BHQ: 4 rifle sqds, Obsolete FC
      3 batteries@ 4x 75mm Meiji 38M or 105mm Type 91 howitzers
      OR 4x 75mm Type 94 or 150mm Type 97 mortars
      OR 8x 90mm Type 94 or 8x 81mm Type 99 mortars; horses

    1 AA Battery: 6x 20mm Type 98, pack horses

    1 Tank Company:

      CHQ: 1x Type 94 Te-Ke or Type 92 Combat Car or 1x Type 95 Ha-Go or Type 97 Chi-Ha
      3 platoons@3-4 tanks as in CHQ

    3 AA Batteries@ 4x 75mm Type 88, static

3. Notes

    a) Radios are in all Bttn HQs and above only.
    b) Infantry have Type 3 A/T grenades, with Lunge mines in 1944-45.
    c) The Brigade has 4 battalions, and possibly up to 8, battalions, with up to three being National Service Volunteers if in Japan in late 1945.
    d) Such brigades were common in the Pacific.
