4. Notes


a) Radios are in all tanks and armoured cars, Carrier PHQs, and other PHQs.
b) Infantry squads have No.75 A/T grenades.
c) The 9th Armoured Division has the 28th Armoured Brigade of three Armoured Regiments and 1 Motor Battalion; the 7th Infantry Brigade of three Motorised Battalions; and one Recce Regiment at division.
d) Tanks are Covananter up to September 1942, at which time they are gradually replaced by Cavalier I, supplemented from December 1942 by Centaur I. From January 1943 Cromwell I-III become available in increasing numbers.
e) OP Tanks are Cavalier OP. CS Tanks are Covananter CS if using Covananter or Cavalier; Centaur IV if using Centaur or Cromwell.
f) By June 1943 the division had double the required number of tanks, hence the assumed Shadow training/defence Armoured Regiments.
g) 2pdr has APC with one load of APCBC, 6pdr has APCBC. From 1943 2pdr has APCBC and HE, and 6pdr has AP wuth one load of APCBC.
h) 17pdr anti-tank guns are not available until 1943.
i) In January 1943 the divisional Armoured Car Regiment was replaced by the Armoured Recce Regiment.
