2. Brigade Support

      3 platoons@ 4x Panhard VBL/.50"
      1 platoon: 4x Panhard VBL/TOW-2

    1 Mechanised Company:

      CHQ: 2x Shoreland 600, 2(8 man) AR sqds
      3 platoons@ 4x Shoreland 600, 4(8 man) AR/SMG/riot sqds, 4 GPMG, 4-16x 37mm riot guns or grenade launchers?

3. Notes


a) Radios are in all squads and AFV.
b) Infantry have 1-3x M72A1 disposable LAW per squad.
c) Pandur 6x6 with 25mm and 90mm turrets have FSAPDS and GALIX decoy system, TI/IINF and laser rangefinder, NBC, winch, run flat tyres and tyre pressure regulation system.
d) Sufficient Pandurs are being bought to raise one battalion, options exist for two more. The anti-tank version with Hellfire has not been ordered but has been demonstrated.
e) Details are provisional.
f) All CHQ and PHQ Pandurs have GPS.
g) Recently Kuwait has added stretched Panhard VBL and 22x Australian built Shoreland 600 4x4 armoured trucks.
h) By 2001 there three National Guard Battalions in trucks and cars, one Armoured Car (Mechanised Battalion above) Battalion, one Special Forces Battalion and one Military Police Battalion, the latter two of unknown organisation.
