5. Notes

a) Estonia has 1 brigade with 3 infantry and 1 Guard Infantry battalions. Up to 1 battalion and another company can be in BTR-60PB, BTR-70 and BTR-80.
b) Latvia has one Infantry Battalion, plus the Recce and Engineer battalions, and 5 Home Guard Brigades each of 5-7 battalions.
c) Lithuania has 1 Rapid Reaction Brigade of 7 Infantry Battalions.
d) In 1994 the Baltic states agreed to standardise equipment and possibly organisation.
e) Equipment includes Israeli kit, mortars and IINF, with Russian and Israeli small arms.
f) Estonian Special Forces use Steyr AUG, MP5, pump action shotguns, 40mm auto-grenade launchers, and Israeli body armour.
