4. Notes
a) Radios are in all squads and AFV. Infantry have IINF.
b) Squads have 6-8x M72A1 disposable LAW each. All HQ and other squads have at at least one 40mm M203 grenade launcher on M16A1.
c) These organisations are the older variety, gradually replaced by the Division 86 formations during the decade. Can be used in combination with List A69M and A70M.
d) The 4 Armoured Divisions each have 6 Tank Battalions, 5 Mechanised Battalions,
and 3 Brigade HQs. All have 1 Divisional Armoured Cavalry Squadron.
e) The 6 Mechanised Divisions each have 4 Mechanised and 3 Armoured Battalions,
and 3 Brigade HQs. All have 1 Divisional Armoured Cavalry Squadron.
f) Armoured Divisions in Germany have 1-2 Tank Battalions equipped with M60A2.
g) Heavy Artillery Battalions have 6 OP Teams if in a Mechanised Division, 9 if in an Armoured Division.
h) National Guard units include 2 Armoured and 2 Mechanised Divisions, 3 Armoured and 6 Mechanised Brigades. Including Army Reserve units, Training Divisions and independent battalions, these amount to 45 Tank Battalions in 1980.These will use M60 (4 battalions),
M60A1 (16 battalions) or M48A5 (25 battalions), and M48 AVLB, and from 1985, M60A3. By 1985 these amounted to 31 M60/M60A1/M60A3 battalions and 10 M48A5 battalions.
i) By 1985 all front-line tanks are M60A3.
j) Independent brigades have 3 battalions, 1 M109 battalion, 1 Recce Troop with 9x M551 Sheridan or M60A1.
k) Redeye SAM can be replaced by Stinger from 1983.
l) M113 with TOW are about 50% M150, 50% M901. From 1982 can fire ITOW rounds.
m) M202 is 4-barrel incendiery rocket launcher.
n) National Guard units replace M730 and M163 with M42 Duster.
