From the Cardinal's Pulpit

Field Trips and Conventions

You didn't hear from the Cardinal last issue and you're probably wondering what we've up to.

First up, Historicon. Your Cardinal goes to Mecca? Hey, I'm open minded. My ECW games went well (Parliament 4-0--what happened to the Royalists?). My biggest surprise (and disappointment) was the amount of Games Workshop stuff used in games and sold in the dealer's room.

Next, our field trip to Aberdeen Proving Grounds to see the Armor Museum. You don't know big until you stand next to a Jagdtiger. We also ran into DC for a day.

As for chapter happenings, our fall convention has come and gone and saw a chapter meeting with actual issues discussed and debated for a change. We decided to do a Saturday theme game day at the Boy Scout Hall in January and July. If themes don't work, we'll drop them, but we'll give them a try. Dropping the fall convention for a game day was discussed and rejected. Putting out the newsletter in electronic format was discussed and rejected. Membership is up to 118 with 10 new members signing on. We have $5900 in the bank witha couple of checks to deposit.

January 11

January 11, 2003 is a game day theme of WWII. Members admitted free. Game masters contact me. April 11 and 12th is our usual April convention.
