From The Cardinal's Pulpit

HMGS/PSW News

by The Cardinal

To my fellow chapter members, greetings. As I sit here and write my musings, I reach out with my inner third eye (supposed source of my vast manipulative Powers) and ponder at 'hat our world has become. So many things now seem so petty since Sept 11. But carry on we must, if only to deny Terror its hold on us and to honor the memory of those fallen.

On to Chapter business, At the Fall Convention we held elections. The results by Popular acclamation were

    President: Mark Parker
    Vice President: Kevin Rounsaville
    Secretary/Tresurer: Steve Verdoliva

Amidst the cheers were a few calls Of "Suckers" but your names and faces were noted for future treatment. I offer mine and the Chapter's many thanks to all the outgoing officers; Chris Snell, Danny Jones, and Rob Boyens. As for the convention, we had about 60 attendees plus a dozen new members signed up. My congratulations to Duke Winser for winning the first HMGS/PSW "President's Award" for best game at the Con.
We currently have 89 active members and a little over $5600.00 in the bank with no outstanding debts. The up coming event our Chapter will be concerned with is Desert War, the gaming convention coming up in March in Las Vegas. Please contact Ed Teixeira at twohourwargames@hotmail.com. Our chapter has been approached by Ed and Games University to host the historical games. This will be the first game convention in Las Vegas so everyone will be interested in the outcome.

Fred Rosenberg and his Lancaster club have also approached us about running a monster l5mm WWII game about a post D-Day breakout attempt by the Allies against a German defense. This looks to be played in 2003. Members will be kept notified about the game's progress.

I want to wish all of you a Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, and a Happy New Year!
