Here is your Christmas Stocking stuffed with goodies. We have table top adaptions for two realistic Roman armies, a humorous look at wargaming etiquette by the always funny Dan Gunther. Chuck Duggie gives his thoughts and historic examples for improving naval scenario play and a new column about modern warfare begins by Rob Carpenter. Also we have reviews of the two hottest miniature rule sets by Arty Conliffe. Armati and Shako. with a battle scenario included and \Vilbur Gray from HMGS East has allowed us to use his Souffel Riser Napoleonic scenario so NB and Shako players have something to do! Open and enjoy. HMGS PSW Fall campaigns was well attended. Bill Whitams won Best modern era terrain and miniature award of the show with his 20 mm WWII skirmish in a war ravaged border town. Chris - Joe won Best horse through musket era terrain and miniatures. with their truly awesome Battle of Gabiene. 316 BC. There were nearly 500 15mm miniatures on the table. Drum Barrack's Battle Group Kwon Best overall presentation with their 15mm Battle of Chancellorsville. 3rd Day, Stuart takes command. Pictures taken of the board look like stills from the actual battle. Man thanks to Stone Mountain who provided prizes. I cant report on the painting contest winners because there was no contest. Lack of interest caused its cancellation. Members tell me that man do not enter because the same people win always. There will have to be some changes. I'll have more to report. next issue. The elections for HMGS PSW Board of Directors were carried out at the con. Results are: Tim Daun and his ticket beat the opposition ticket headed by Skip Gardella, except the venerable Roger Treat \N ho triumphed as secretary. This means that the line up is: Tim Daun. President. Chris Armstrong. First V.P. Jose Mendiola. Second VP. Roger Treat, Secretary. Amy Brit Treasurer. Congrats to the winners and thanks to all candidates for showing interest. I would be amiss not to thank the old board for the fine job it did keeping HMGS PSW aloft through trials and Tribulations. They are: Steve "Iron Man" Verdoliva. President. Mark Parker. 1st VP. Dr. John "Night tripper" Curran. 2nd V.P.. Chris "Computer Maven" Vivo. Secretary, and Galen "Dot every i. cross even t" Yee. Treasurer. It was a pleasure working with 'you. At our general meeting, the membership decided to succeed from HMGS National, citing little or no response from the national board for the money expended. The general feeling is that PSW will be fine on its own, the big question is will East allow us to keep the HMGS' name? More on this next issue. Dick Bryant of the Courier wrote to ask me to pass along the info that rumors of the Courier.'s demise is greatly exaggerated. He informs me that he plans to continue publishing well into retirement. which is fortunately not for sonic years yet. He assures me the four issues for next year are in various stages of preparation. So fence sitters who were unsure if they should renew. Get off your duff and do it: The Courier can always use our support. As you know, it is on the stands, with a review of the Messenger. If you didn't know. well you should pick it up. Finally I must apologize for the lateness of this issue, Christmas season is always rough if you are in the film & magazine business.
