HMGS/PSW held their Spring Campaign at the LAX Hyatt hotel during the 4th and 5th of March. Because of inclement weather and a failure "to get the word out" the con was sparsely attended. That did not keep those who braved the elements from having a good time. The different periods were well epresented, although the period Napoleon and his forces were conspicuously absent. I was involved with the restaging of Brandy Station for the Drum Barracks Museum, but I did receive some info (for info on the con see "Fearless Leader"). There were two Ancient toumaments DBK and Tactica. The Tactica tournament went until late evening. Chris Vivo came in first winning a medal, followed by Robert Guylon who also won a medal for placing second, Dan Raymor arrived in third, and Kurt Wiedeman puffed in fourth. Twelve players were involved, armies utilized were Achaetneid Persian, Macedonian, Arminian German, Trajanic Roman, Norman, Crusader, Saracen. Greg Tovrea, who put on his well received galley game, Our Sea was rewarded by having his laptop stolen. This is not good. If anyone has any information about what happened to the unit, please get in touch with me or Steve Verdoliva'. Our numbers are on Pg 7. I understand Greg is offering a reward. In closing I want to express my appreciation to all judged and organizers of the games. Let's not forget to include all the vendors, most who are H.M.G.S. members, who took the time to attend though the weather made transport difficult.
