HMGS National News

1994

by Clay Smith

Personally, I have been experiencing a great deal of success with promoting WAGS in the North Texas area. Unfortunately, I have only heard from two convention organizers in the country about their events. If you are running an HMGS convention then please contact me so I can spread the word about it.

I have received several responses to my request for the Internet addresses of members. This list has been distributed to their Email addresses. If you can be contacted over the Internet, then let me know at claysmith@aol.com

Until DallasCon this August I did not have any experience in organizing any kind of events. In November I will be responsible for Historical Retreat in Piano, TX and this will get me involved with advertising in the local media. That experience will prepare me for advertising HMGS at the National level.

The name of HMGS is a registered trademark and it would be a good idea to put an R after HMGS in any newsletter or advertisement in the future. Newsletters should also contain a disclaimer for the content, like 'all views expressed in this newsletter are the opinions of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the views of HMGS or its chapters.'

I am always interested in hearing new ideas, so if you think of away to benefit the hobby of Historical Miniature Wargaming and want to use HMGS as the vehicle, please get in touch with me.
